Dwayne Johnson has turned down an offer to host the 2022 Emmy awards. The Baywatch star revealed he’d had talks with television network CBS about presenting the prestigious honors, but ultimately decided it wasn’t right for him. “I was truly honored when they came to me and asked, but scheduling conflicts got in the way,” Johnson said of the offer on Wednesday while promoting his new movie Jumanji: Welcome to Jamrock.
Johnson's announcement came the same day that a source told ET that Chris Rock likewise turned down the chance to host this year's ceremony, which is set to take place on Sept. 12.
“I just had a prior work commitment that prevented me from being able to consider the role for season three of House of Cards. That’s all it comes down to,” he told ET.
